Beam me up Jimmy Doohan
Being myself a traditional Western American libertarian-populist, I personally quite a bit to agree with in what Palin actually says (as contrasted with the Tina Fey-caricature “I can see Russia from my house!” mythology that many people have unthinkingly bought into) but she really does use some cringe-worthy phraseology sometimes.
She needs a better speechwriter. Or, a speechwriter.
Brilliant!
And actually, L, the speech you reference above is NOT the speech that Shatner was reciting. He was reciting the actual farewell speech, not the initial announcement.
