Well, Novik's always gotten pretty nice-looking covers. I like that compilation cover quite a lot. I think my vote goes for that. Not that I would tell that Baldur's Gate-looking fellow that to his face. That axe is probably bigger than me.

I vote for the Novik cover. It's got some depth and texture, uses nice typography, and gets the point across (dragon) without screaming it in your face. It's also not dated, which the Remic cover is - that one is reminiscent of cheesy 70's/80's fantasy/adventure stories. Which may have been intentional, but doesn't make me want to read it - that one illustration leaves me with the impression that I already know exactly what kind of story it is, and have already read dozens like it. The Novik cover, by being more subtle, makes me want to pick it up and learn more.

Remic cover is desperately dated. And I don't like covers which tell you what the protagonist looks like - if I wanted that I'd go see a film.
The Novik cover is classy, gives a good impression of the sort of thing to expect whithout taking up residence in your imagination.

The Novik cover is basically text with ornamentation. But it's clean and direct and perfect for a compilation. Booksellers will love it. But don't be hatin' on the Remic cover. I'm guessing it communicates to the reader exactly what the book is about. That's a good thing.

The Novik cover, definitely. When I first saw the one on the right, I thought it was a Warhammer/Black Library book, which I would walk right by.

I'm like both covers a lot. But the Novik cover has a classic first read look. Good shelf appeal.
The cover was illustrated by Craig Howell I found his website when I googled... it's definitely worth checking out
