  • Last week we brought you two of the ladies of Stargate Universe and their cover appearance on the Steppin’ Out magazine. Not to be out down, Tricia Helfer and Grace Park of Battlestar Galactica went to the next level and posed for Maxim. You can see all the photos and a video here. While most of the pictures are very alluring, there is one of Grace Park that makes me want to say to her, “Seriously Grace, eat a sammich or five!”
  • Joseph Campbell’s Hero of a Thousand Faces has had a great impact on science fiction. However, T3knomancer argues that Campbell has, in fact, killed genre fiction. His basic argument is that current science fiction on TV is more concerned with character than with the ‘big ideas’ SF is known for. I agree to a certain extent and I’d like to see a show that mixed both. I think Flashforward and Fringe might help tilt the scales back, as well as LOST.
  • Speaking of Flashforward and LOST, TV Guide interviews Sonya Walger (Penny on LOST, Olivia on Flashforward) about her roles on those two shows. Some good questions, plus the revelation that she thinks Penny’s dad should be a goner in season 6!
  • Fox is experimenting with Dollhouse again, but in an interesting way. This time they’ve created an Adobe AIR application for Dollhouse that randomly displays, on your desktop, an ‘interactive’ avatar of Echo who will appear in one of 9 different outfits and will throw things at you. Also, there is an Augmented Reality function that interacts with your web cam. You can see the AR in action below.
