TRAILER: Tron Legacy

We've had just a taste and a tease of Disney's upcoming Tron sequel, until today. Thanks to some enterprising fans who have been hard at work on the Tron Legacy viral site Flynn Lives we have the official trailer. [H/T to FirstShowing.Net]

But please, by all that's holy, watch it in HD. I love the look of the new computer world, I love the light cycles and I really think the soundtrack goes well. I believe it's been written by Daft Punk, though they just may have done the main theme. As Tron is one of my all time favorite SF movies, I will definitely be in the theater on opening day. In Imax 3D no less, 'cause that's the kind of guy I am...

I really, really, really hope they don't screw this one up. As it is, I'm geeked for this. Plus, my kids like Tron as well so I'll be shelling out some serious cash to take them with me.

New light cycles FTW!

Wow!  This is the first trailer or description or really any talk of the new Tron movie that has me interested in seeing it.  This looks amazing - we'll see how it turns out.

I also see on the Disney site they have a trailer for the game.  So far not too much is known about it other than that trailer and a few none too helpful comments from the director of the film.

What I wouldn't give to have a GTA-style game in the Tron universe.  It's perfect for it with a nice variety of vehicles, weapons and a virtually (pun!) unlimited set of mission opportunities.

Oh well, it's not going to happen as there simply isn't any time for that kind of game to have been produced, but hey, I can dream, right?

I was cautiously optimistic before when I saw the teaser, I'm downright giddy now that I've seen this trailer. I just hope I'm not gettin' my hopes up for nothin'.

Slightly off-topic, but has anyone else seen this?
