Does seem to be a bit early to be posting the ‘best of’ lists. I like to at least wait until December to start seeing these. I am excited to see great reviews for How to Live in a Science Fictional Universe (a book I picked up at the store recently) and Dream of Perpetual Motion (a book whose cover beckons for me to buy it every time I am in the store).
Amazon gets books 3-4 months ahead of publication. So do I–pretty much everything. Thousands of books. There’s very little that slips through the cracks. I do mop-up end of the year for anything that is missed in SF-F, though, and then get another crack at it doing a best-of for Locus Online. jv
This is the best of Science fiction for this year? Good lord…
Not read any of them… not even heard of most of them…
