In the early 1980′s, German synthpop musician Peter Schilling releases “Major Tom”, a retelling of David Bowie’s classic 1969 song “Space Oddity”.

Such a Total Jam. Have you ever heard all of Fehler im System, the album that track originally comes from? It’s packed with awesome sci-fi jams! As much as I adore “Major Tom,” though, I think the best track is “Die Wuste Lebt,” which is about evacuating the Earth as the sun’s turning into a red giant. The English version of the song, “The Noah Plan,” is nowhere near as good, alas.
