RIP: Joanna Russ

Sad news….
Author Joanna Russ, who was recently admitted into a hospice after suffering a series of strokes, passed away today. She was 74 years old.
Joanna Russ is best known as the the author of The Female Man and also What Are We Fighting For? Sex, Race, Class, and the Future of Feminism.

On a recent mind-meld the question was asked who among woman writers would match the trio of Heinlein, Asimov, and Clarke. I could not limit to three and gave five. She was among my choices. I never met her but I wish I had.
