When you were talking about stories where learning a language changes people, I thought of “Story of Your Life” by Ted Chiang.
A great podcast, with bonus voicemail content, and Jessica’s new column too!
If you liked The Quantum Thief, you ought to give Pink Noise a try. Just as many mind blowing ideas, hard SF ideas, written in a more lyrical style. Very well done.
I read both of these last year and loved them:
The Reapers Are the Angels by Alden Bell and The City of Saints and Madmen by Jeff VanderMeer. That’s two, rather than “the last,” but so be it.
