My apologies, Patrick, for the lousy quality of the voicemail. I realized, much to my horror, that Windows Recorder does not record Mp3′s…it only records in its proprietary format. I figured sending you a .wma file would make you very cranky…
Great picks, John. Let the buyer beware that Donaldson’s Gap series has some disturbing scenes.
Given my limited exposure to Donaldson, that does not surprise me, Tam.
I’ve tried to read Donaldson’s Gap series twice and couldn’t make it past the second book either time. Not one character was sympathetic. They were all so damaged or so unlikable that I couldn’t subject myself to it any more.
I’m just browsing through your odcasts nad I find myself wondering why, out of all of the space opera out there, none of you mentioned Banks Culture novels?
