Thanks, Patrick.
I really liked River of Gods, and have heard good things about Planesrunner from places such as Coode Street. Ian makes it sound even more appealing. YA? I’ll call it science fiction and I will read it.
Great interview, really enjoyed it!
The book from China that Ian mentioned is “UFO in Her Eyes” by Xiaolu Guo. Richard Larson and I both reviewed it for Strange Horizons: http://www.strangehorizons.com/reviews/2009/05/two_views_ufo_i.shtml
It’s a short book but well worth your time.
