I actually liked the booked. I came into it, however, not knowing that there was supposed to be Shadows Alive, which might be why I felt satisfied with it being a conclusion to the shadow series. I am also biased in that I have always preferred Bean rather the Ender and have read all the Shadow books while only reading Ender's Game and Ender in Exile.
Overall they could have evolved his kids more, but I was satisfied because they seemed as intelligent as Bean was as a 6 year old in Rotterdam. Also since they didn't live in harsh conditions like Bean did I felt Card made a good job having the kids still have a sort of innocence with the inter fighting like most kids have. He could have expanded more with Bean but I was satisfied with his mood cause I knew how he felt from the previous books about his lose of Petra and kids with death also following his every move.
I think with this book I shall be done with the Enderverse because what kept me was Bean and I did't get a huge attachment to his kids to be willing to dish out more money.

I don't have much of an urge to revisit the Ender universe, but its interesting to see what you have made of it.

Card needs to stop this series already. I understand his next book in the series is the one that will end it finally (or until he decides to bring it back). The books have gotten worse and worse and focusing on Bean is a huge mistake. Bean's easily the most boring character Card has created. He takes one step and there's a three page soliloquy about how he decided to take that step and how smart he is for doing it. I found this book short, boring and really not worth the time it took to read it (<a href="http://whatmarkread.blogspot.com/2012/01/shadows-in-flight-by-orson-scott-card.html" rel="nofollow">my review</a>
