John Cleese had a walk-on cameo on Doctor Who? Who knew? Who knew. (Sorry…couldn’t resist.)
Cleese appeared in the classic Tom Baker episode “City of Death” which was written by…Douglas Adams. Cleese played an art gallery visitor in the epsiode. Although most Monty Python members were rumored to be considered for the role of the good Doctor, only Cleese actually appeared on the show.
And here’s the video proof…

Fun fact: I saw this episode before I had any idea who John Cleese was. It wasn’t long after that I saw Monty Python, and then realized. “Hey, the Monty Python guy was on that Doctor Who episode set in Paris! Cool!”
John Cleese is always funny. Even when it’s only for ten seconds.
Cleese is always a delight, & the Doctor is always stand-up!
