The game is flexible enough to move into any genre you would want provided someone is willing to write an appropriate letter. Some genres would be an odd juxtaposition put beside the otherwise lighthearted tone of the text but it could be done.

The genre that the game is designed to emulate is lighthearted, comedic, even slapsticky, YA fantasy (or YA Anime) adventure. The particular worlds can range from fantasy to science fiction, but the general equilibrium is on the “fantasy” side.
