It feels like a cheap sting, to me. I can see the theme to it, but I feel it’s not at all supported by the rest of the story – in fact, it undermines a lot of the characterisation and set up that was laid out. It’s unfortunate, because it was a great read otherwise. It could even have survived a weak ending, but one like this which destroys so much of the earlier development ruins it, for me. Probably won’t be picking up the rest of the series.

In addition, it is absurdly acronym heavy; yes, there’s an appendix, but good luck using that without annoyance on an e-book reader.
