John - thanks for putting this up in tribute to Gerry Anderson.

Despite what Neil says, Fireball XL-5 is surprisingly good science fiction TV fare - despite the puppets and being just a bit shy of its 50th anniversary. (I was quite surprised upon re-watching a couple of years ago to find out that they paid attention to things like physics.)

Anderson has actually given us as many, if not more, SF tv shows than Roddenberry - Supercar, Torchy the Battery Boy, Captain Scarlet, Fireball XL-5, Thunderbirds, Joe 90, Stingray, Space: 1999 & UFO, Space Police, as well as several feature length films such as Journey to the Far Side of the Sun/Doppleganger.

Gerry was truly a fireball.
