I agree that this stuff truly sings when Mignola himself is at the helm (especially on art duties), but Arcudi and Davis seem to be almost as invested in and connected to the characters and story as Mignola himself would be, so they make for terrific substitutes.  

And yes, there&#039;s a lot more readability here than many comics offer - in fact, it&#039;s only on a re-read that your really notice just how meticulously woven together everything is, even stuff that initially seems inconsequential.]]></description>

		<description><![CDATA[Wonderful review of a wonderful series.  There is something special about Mike Mignola&#039;s creations even when he is not the one at the helm.  I prefer him at the helm, don&#039;t get me wrong, but I was pleased that this series got made and I enjoyed each arc as well as the overall story.  The art was enjoyable and had those nice creepy moments and the stories were rich and rewarding.  I&#039;ll pull out all my old Hellboy and BPRD comics/hardcovers/graphic novels every so often and give them a re-read.  They are that good, and that is something I rarely do with comics.]]></description>
