I’ve been reading GGK since The Summer Tree, and to me he is the finest author. Not just the finest fantasy author, but the finest author full stop.

Even when I couldn’t afford anything else, I’ve bought GGK in hardback – since The Darkest Road.

Favourites are Tigana, Ysabel and Sailing to Sarantium (I’m so looking forward to going to Istanbul myself!)

My first Kay book was back in the summer of 1989 when I found, purchased and devoured the Fionavar Tapestry books. You can have your Martin’s et al, but for me, Kay is the finest fantasy author of the last 30 years.

Kristin, you have done it again – interviewed one of my favorite authors.

My first Kay was A Song for Arbonne, I remember a friend of mine let me borrow his copy when I was 18 or 19, and I fell in love with the book, with everything about it. And the guy who lent it to me? I ended up marrying him.

That means Guy Gavriel Kay is in part responsible for my happy marriage!
