Finally was able to get around to listening to this. Mid-way through I stopped it and waited to listen to it with my wife because we had recently read and enjoyed Shades of Milk and Honey and are mid-way through Glamour in Glass. Great dialogue between the two of you. Really. Highly entertaining and informative. Enjoyed it very much so thank you both.

Wonderful interview with Mary. I enjoy the Writing Excuses podcast -- a little boggled to hear how it's recorded -- I think you'd get a little punchy after 44 episodes in a row. I'm reading Shades of Milk & Honey right and it's quite delightful.

As a longtime Nano participant, there are quite a number of "success" stories that have released books written during crazy November. The two offhand are Marissa Meyer's Lunar Chronicles (Cinder, Scarlet) and Erin Morgenstern's Night Circus. As Mary added though, it's usually the editing/rewriting/tearing your hair out afterwards that turns it from the 50K into something publishable.

That is fine. If it is a who gets with who kind of spoiler I am okay with that as this type of book is one you enter into with some expectations of various relationships working out.

Thank you Paul.

There is a spoiler of sorts, yes. But I am not sure its really a significant spoiler at all, all things considered. (And the cover of Without a Summer basically DOES make the spoilery point)

I am planning to begin reading Shades of Milk and Honey to my wife this weekend (because I've had this book for far too long and feel ashamed that I haven't read it yet). Are there spoilers for the series at all on this podcast? I always enjoy listening to Mary and would love to listen to this soon.

I am imagining the crazy hijinks Patrick, Mary and Cherie could get up to together in Chattanooga.

Oh, and Mary, +1 for the Bugs Bunny reference. (careful listeners will know it when they hear it :) )
