The heart of cyberpunk is still beating.
Great way to mix one of my favorite musical artists of all time (I got to meet Huey once!) and one of my most beloved genres. Well done!
I had a hoot listening to both panels, but I gotta say this second one really got my juices flowing for sitting down and cranking out a few cyberpunk short stories.
As a writer, I’ve not touched the genre in many years because I’ve believed the genre to be a dead one. I guess it changed around just enough that I no longer recognized it. Maybe I need to rethink where my stories go and approach my cyberpunk writing from a slightly different angle.
Thanks to everyone!
For precursors to cyberpunk, Samuel Delany’s Nova has crew that plugin to a ship. John Shirley cites him as an influence in the intro to Black Glass.
Nice discussion, Kelly is a blast – and a much better audio. If Jaym could get a new mic/rig it would be perfect.
Jaym has *GOT* to get a better audio setup.
