This isn’t new, but I just came across this short film called Something Real. It’s a fan film based on Iain M. Banks Culture novels.

Excellent! Gives a great snapshot of the Culture without needing budget-blowing special effects (really big spaceships). Hope they do more.
Ever see the Peter F. Hamilton – Pandora’s Star student video?
I enjoyed it greatly.
I’d watch more shorts but would love a real feature film.
