This month (July 12th) marks SF Signal’s 10th Birthday. Yay us! :)

What better way to celebrate than to throw links at you faster than you can keep up with.

THE NEW RECRUITS

Adding to our already stellar list of contributors, this past year we welcomed:

Kristin has been doing Mind Melds, one-on-one interviews, and reviews. I don’t know how she does it because at her own blog, My Bookish Ways, she already publishes superb content every single day.

Carrie has started new column called Outside The Frame in which she takes a look at some of the comics that might be outside your radar. Consider this fair warning that your to-be-read pile will grow after reading her insights.

Although Tim Ward has been reviewing books here for the past year, we may see less of him these days as he has just recently taken over the helm of Adventures in SciFi Publishing, an awesome podcast you should all be listening to. Congrats Tim!

In case you weren’t already aware (and you should be), Bryan Thomas Schmidt conducts weekly interviews with speculative fiction authors under the moniker of SFFWRTCHT. Bryan has been posting the interviews here at SF Signal on a weekly basis. Did you ever wonder what goes on inside a writer’s head? Check out this interview series and you’ll know.

I’ve been looking to increase our short fiction coverage here at SF Signal for some time, and Carl V. Anderson is my answer. Every week in his Short Fiction Friday column, Carl keeps us up-to-date with some of the latest short fiction available. If you like short fiction, you need to read this column. If you don’t, well, you’re missing out because Carl is finding some wonderful stuff out there and he’s taking us all along for the ride.

GUEST POSTS

Aside from our awesome SF Signal Army (bagel-stingy though they may be, hint-hint), we’ve been fortunate enough to have many, many guests grace our hollow halls (you read that right). Seriously, you can lose yourself looking through our archive of guest posts and be consistently amazed at the cool articles you’ll find there. Thanks to each and every one of them for taking the time to share their thoughts with the greater community.

HUGO NOMINATIONS AND WIN

Did you hear we won the Hugo Award for Best Fanzine? We’re still flying high from that one. We are also in the running again this year — with two nominations: one for Best Fanzine and one for Best Fancast. Thanks to you, dear reader, for liking what we do and saying so.

PODCASTS

The SF Signal Podcast, hosted by Patrick Hester, is still running along. Although Patrick has had to scale back his twice-weekly schedule to weekly earlier this year because of work, things may be picking up again soon. Stay tuned…

We are also proud to host the SF Crossing the Gulf podcast by Karen Burnham and Karen Lord. If you are into the academic side of science fiction or otherwise like in-depth analyses of sf…this is a podcast for you. This one should be on your must-listen playlist.

SO MUCH MORE

With several posts appearing daily, it’s impossible to recap everything we’ve done. Blogs being what they are, posts will get attention when they go up then trail off. If you don’t check us out every day (shame!), do go browse back in our archive by tags or topic — you’re sure to find some great stuff just waiting to be discovered.

AND IN CLOSING…

…I’d like to extend yet another a huge, huge Thank You to all of the SF Signal readers out there who take time out of their busy lives to stop by, read and comment, and share their thoughts on the genres we all love. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again (heck — I’ll even cut and paste it from last year!): You are the reason we do this every single day and we genuinely hope that you are having as much fun with SF Signal as we are bringing it to you.

See you later…in spaaace!
