It’s that time again where geeks of all stripes proudly fly their colors (and wait in ridiculously long lines to attend panels) at Comicon 2013 in San Diego. As usual, there are a raft of movie trailers being shown at Comicon and here are several of them (plus extras). So hook up your double wide, call your Aunt Edna and prepare to feast your eyes on trailers galore!
Really just a teaser and not a full trailer. I supposed if I knew who Electro was this might do more for me, but considering I’ve never seen any of the Spider-Man movies I’m not really in to this.
I’ve been meaning to watch the first Kick-Ass and KA 2 just makes me want to watch it more. I like the direction being take here, it could be very interesting.
Everyone’s favorite Vin Diesel is back, seemingly returning to his survival horror SF roots in Riddick. Plus: No Necromongers or convoluted storyline. Minus: The air bike CGI looks awfully cheesy, not Defiance CGI car chase bad, but not good.
The Fox Network’s re-boot of the classic, groundbreaking Carl Sagan series, now stars Neil DeGrasse Tyson and is on a “real” broadcast network. Some of the YouTube commentors appear to take issue with the flash of the trailer, lamenting the lack of substance and the appearance of reaching for the lowest common denominator. I don’t care, this looks really good. And really, the Universe itself is a flashy, violent place, even if you don’t think about it that way or typically see it like that. This will be on my DVR.
Terry Gilliam, you either love him or hate him, but he constantly pumps out the visually arresting and intellectually challenging movies. Zero Theorem is his latest project and it looks like a more “high-tech” Brazil, from a visual standpoint and the idea of “everything adds up to nothing” certainly sounds like a Gilliam idea. I like Gilliam and I’d go see this.
Lastly we have an extended trailer-ish…thing for Hayao Miyazaki’s latest animate movie, The Wind Rises. Enjoy.
