11 Comments on 221 Reasons To Read Science Fiction, Fantasy and Horror in February 2014 (Your One-Stop Monthly SF/F/H Cover Gallery)

  1. Ah, lovely. More temptation.

I will probably pick up Seven Wild Sisters by de Lint, same as I did with The Cats of Tanglewood Forest, both because I enjoy de Lint’s writing and because it will be chock full of great illustrations by Charles Vess.

I really enjoyed Fortune’s Pawn, so will be snagging and reading Honor’s Knight by Rachel Back (Rachel Aaron) as soon as it comes out.

That slipcased volume of Poe’s work looks great.

Even though I have yet to read Burn Zone, I’ll pick up Fallout by James Decker.

  2. Great list. Already read Ringo, and I’m riding D’Lacey now, with Weir, Cutter, Kearney, and Leonard all cued up to follow.

  3. Steve Oerkfitz // February 1, 2014 at 12:32 pm //

Have on order the Jeff Vandermeer, Ian McDonald, R.A. Lafferty, Steven Tem and the Marcel Theroux. Already read the Stephen King, the Black Wings 2. the Peter Beagle and the Paul McAuley(may rebuy this as it has all 3 novels in one edition). The Tom Purdom, Simon Ings and Karen Lord are maybes. May also get the Strugatsky as their Roadside Picnic is one of my favorite books.
Odd-nothing from Subterranean Press this month?

  4. Send me that Locke & Key please.

Under the Dome Part 1? Is it a comic?

  5. my god the work that must go into putting this together, I thank you so much for doing it!

  6. Those Wild Card covers seem to get more… interesting… each year

  7. Excellent list! And it reminded me of a few titles that I got as review copies that I still need to read. This month looks like it’s going to be a really good one for book releases, that’s for sure!

  8. I’ve tried all the currently available previews on this list, and the ones that stood out to me for one reason or another were …

    Andy Weir, The Martian
    Jeff VanderMeer, Annihilation
Charles Adler, Wizards, Aliens, and Starships: Physics and Math in Fantasy and Science Fiction
    Sharon Lee, Carousel Sun
Daniel Price, The Flight of the Silvers
Ian McDonald, Empress of the Sun
    M. D. Waters, Archetype
    Tahereh Mafi, Ignite Me
