TRAILER: Guardians of the Galaxy

The first trailer for Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy film is here! And it looks like it’s being played as an action/ comedy.

The description (from Trailer Addict)…

In the far reaches of space, an American pilot named Peter Quill finds himself the object of a manhunt after stealing an orb coveted by the villainous Ronan.

Holy cow, what a star-studded cast! Chris Pratt, Bradley Cooper (voice of Rocket Raccoon), Vin Diesel (voice of Groot), Zoe Saldana (Gamora), Karen Gillan (Nebula), Benicio Del Toro (Taneleer Tivan / The Collector), Djimon Hounsou (Korath the Pursuer), Michael Rooker (Yondu), John C. Reilly (Rhomann Dey), and Glenn Close (Commander Rael).

Even cooler: writing credits include James Gunn, Nicole Perlman, Steve Englehart, Dan Abnett, and Andy Lanning, among others.

  1. No matter how good its written and directed…will the audience come?

That’s what I’m wondering. Is this “too out there” for fans of the rest of the Marvel movies?

    • Good questions. Without the Marvel logo, does this also qualify as a SciFi blockbuster?

    • I think the campy sci-fi adventure that they are trying to convey in this trailer is what will attract the public. You have likable characters and high-octane action, which may be big sellers, no matter if the setting isn’t that common.
