  1. Nice to see Fred Kiesche finally weigh in on one of these milsf podcasts. For the Elizabeth Moon stuff definitely check out the Graphicaudio versions with full cast, sound effect, and music. But in the first book you have to be ok with horses. I liked the beginning of the actual Heinlein Starship Troopers book, but I stalled in the lecture part in the middle. Scalzi’s Old Man’s War is a favorite too.

  2. The lack of *heavy* weapons in Starship Troopers drove me nuts. What the hell was with just the machine guns (and some grenades). Get some damned ordinance worth a damn and see how the Bugs like THAT.

    (Fred would likely agree that Bolos would have been wonderful to use against Bugs)

  3. Note on Jurassic Park: that was a real file browser that she used. It was never popular, but it was real and worked well (enough).
