8 Comments on These Are the 268 Science Fiction, Fantasy and Horror Books Coming Out in May 2014 – Which Ones Do You Want?

  1. HOLY LIST. I am looking forward to so many of these it is a bit intimidating. Most of all: Amy Plum’s After the End and VanderMeer’s Authority.

  2. There’s an S. Andrew Swann for you John.

  3. I noted about 14 books from the list. If I narrowed it down to ones I’d actually have time to read, I’d take the Lafferty collection (wish I could justify paying for the volumes, but jeez), Robert’s Twenty Trillion Leagues, de Pierres’ Peacemaker, and the Jo Walton. And I have The Ghost Bride on my wishlist for my local library.

  4. Apply Sturgeon’s Law. Narrow it down to 27. Lot’s of reprints in there also.

  5. Based on sampling all the available previews, my picks for this month were …

    Jeff VanderMeer, Authority.
Garry Kilworth, SF Gateway Omnibus of the Navigator Kings trilogy.
    Seanan McGuire, Sparrow Hill Road.
Wu Ming-Yi, The Man with the Compound Eyes.
    Catherynne Valente, Indistinguishable from Magic.
    Benny Lindelauf, Nine Open Arms.
    Chris Willrich, The Silk Map.
    Robert Kroese, Starship Grifters.
Gideon Defoe, Elite: Docking is Difficult.
