Co-Authors Daniel Abraham and Ty Franck (who write under the pseudonym James S.A. Corey) were interviewed at a recent Authors at Google event. They talk about the origins of the Expanse series, how it was optioned for television, and the latest (and newly-released) book, Cibola Burn.

    Daniel Abraham is being a bit disingenuous about Heinlein. He uses Stranger in a Strange Land as his example and calls it dated when The Moon is a Harsh Mistress obviously influenced the writing of Leviathan Wake.

    Who is Abraham talking about?

    And who was in the movement he mentioned before?

    I have wondered about why Fantasy, and to a small degree Horror, have eclipsed SciFi. I have my own theories but what Abraham and Franck are saying the cause is seems plausible and would like to see what the influential voice and movement were actually saying.
