RIP: Sir Terry Pratchett (1948 – 2015)

Sad news.

BBC is reporting that author Terry Pratchett has passed away at the age of 66. Pratchett had been battling with Alzheimer’s disease for the past few years.

Pratchett is of course well-know for his long-running and much-loved Discworld. He’s written fiction and non-fiction and his Discworld stories have been adapted into multiple forms of media.

  1. SO sad to hear of his passing. Another great SF author has left us…

  2. Rest in peace, brother Terry. You were one-in-a-million and will be sorely missed!

I remember the day I first opened a Discworld book, my universe was suddenly richer and more vibrant than than ever before! His work really spoke to me – he could cut to the dark, cynical core of the matter but have you laughing your head off anyway.

    My heart is in pieces.

  3. Such a tragic loss, all the more so because he knew it was coming and fought s hard against it. There may be other smart, talented, genuinely funny men with such a true understanding of the human condition, but none who could write like he did.

    Rest in peace, Terry.
