I am sick to death of this “Puppies” rubbish and all the novel-length wordsplosions surrounding it. Awards are pure unadulterated bullshit. They are someone’s taste elevated to match their bloated egos. As if a person or person’s likes have any universal standing as some Platonic ideal. I don’t pay attention to them, don’t care about them, don’t care if my favorite or least favorite author wins or loses. If it’s important enough to authors to become forever butthurt over coming in last place, then it’s simply an embarrassing look into the mind of that author.
What really bothers me about this whole mutual masturbation society of authors is that they seem to ignore the fact that readers are the ultimate deciders.
