News Ticker

I know, not SF related but

Major League Baseball has instituted an interesting program wherby you can download any of NLCS games for $3.95 a pop. The download sizes are between 400 – 600 MB and are in RealPlayer format.

I find this to be rather interesting. The prices is relatively cheap and the video quality is good but not great. I see this as a great way for those people who may not have taped the game(s) and/or Tivoed them and want to archive them on a long term basis. Burning to CD is quite attractive here, as is converting to DVD/SVCD formats. MLB is doing some interesting things around broadband, I’m not sure if I’m ready to pony up the fees though. But, if the Astros ever do decide they want to win in the postseason, I’d be all over this….
