MMORPG Cage Match

GameSpy puts EQ2 and WoW into the cage for a no holds barred grudeg match!

From reading the articles, its apparent that Blizzard has definately gone for the MMORPG neophyte and has made its game very friendly to newbies and those who can’t devote a lot of time to an online game. How much longer until some of the WoW design makes it into newer games? Not long I hope, Brad McQuaid be damned. I could go on a rant about how the long term success of any new MMORPG is going to depend on getting newer, non-hardcore gamers to stay and play and how McQuaid is all about making things difficult for no other reason than he can, but I won’t.

  1. Hear hear, it’s always JP who has the voice of reason!!

I probably wont play Vanguard just because it has Brad McQuaid’s grubby hands all over it. And all this about “3rd generation MMORPG” sounds like mostly marketing fluff. If you read the FAQ, there’s nothing really that innovative — it’s all been done, it’s all being done. What game company isn’t looking back and learning what’s wrong with the existing games? How is that new?

    That’s right, I’m the anti-christ and I’m coming to kill MMORPG…
