Here are the results of the latest SF Signal poll.

What do you think of the re-mastered Star Trek?

(56 total votes)

Low voter turnout this week. What, a bunch of Trek-haters are ya’? πŸ™‚

One comment this week:

“While I still prefer the original effects shots–warts and all–if these new effects help new fans discover the greatness of the stories, I am all for it.” – Michael

  1. I did not vote because I couldn’t find an appropriate choice. If I had been designing the poll, my vote would have been “I’d love to watch, but my idiot local station puts it on an absurd hour, keeps changing the time because sports and entertainment shows are more important, and my satellite provider keeps turning the signal off for alleged maintenance on a daily basis.”

  2. Er, yeah, how could I miss such an obvious choice? πŸ˜‰

  3. Don’t you mean low-trek-loving-geek turnout?

  4. Fred – invest in something known as a Digital Video Recorder or DVR or simply Tivo and you’ll never miss another episode of this or any other show again. I can’t watch TV without my Tivo anymore.

  5. Yeah, I always forget when my local station airs it also.
I’m too poor for Tivo or a DVR. I still have a VCR. It’s set to record Trek – but I usually forget to turn it off.

  6. The problem is I get my signal through a satellite provider. The provider will rent me a DVR…for as much each month as it costs for the “basic” signal. As with the hilarious prices for adding movie services, I just can’t see spending that much for the little time we’d actually use it (the same reason we don’t do movie channels–it is easier to buy or rent).
And, a DVR wouldn’t get around the idiotic satellite providers insistence on running “maintenance” every night.
Heck, in a couple of years the revised original edition will be out on DVD. I’ll just buy it then. I should be through my backlog of SG, BSG, B5, etc., DVD’s by then!
