Tube Bits for 08/07/2008

  • You may remember her as Denise Huxtable on The Cosby Show and A Different World. Now you can call her Maya on the US version of Life on Mars. She’ll be playing the girlfriend of the show’s hero, which, in the BBC version, is a very small role. I’d have to assume the role has been expanded for the US version.
  • For those of you still sticking with Galactica, here’s some interesting news. Sci Fi will be expanding the remaining 10 episodes beyond the standard 42-minute run time, adding more footage and extra scenes to each episode. How this will work with their advertising ought to be interesting. Still, more is always better!
  • If you’re still interested after that, you might want to check out the full Galactica Comic Con 2008 panel, hosted at Sci Fi. It’s hosted by Kevin Smith so, as you’d expect, it’s very funny and, as you’d expect, there’s a lot of NSFW language. You have been warned.
  • Chuck‘s Zachary Levi is hosting NBC’s 30-minute fall preview show, airing sometime in either August or September, check your local listings. Why I remember a time when all networks aired specials about their upcoming fall shows. You kids today with your fancy intertubes, you think you know it all. Get off my lawn!
  • We’ve mentioned NBC’s web series, Gemini Division, before. They’ve add a lot more info at their web site, such as this ‘behind the SFX’ clip. And remember, this is for a web series.
