Tube Bits for 10/21/2008

  • Those of you with an iPhone and a taste for anime are in luck: Apple and the Anime Network have teamed up to bring you anime on the iPhone via the vSNAX Video app. And Apples plan for world domination continues…
  • Speaking of anime, the animated version of Witchblade is now available on iTunes. Just look at Apple trying to be ‘hipper’ by going after the anime crowd. That’s so cute!
  • Many Star Trek fans were disappointed when Star Trek: The Experience closed its doors last month at the Las Vegas Hilton. Well, good news for Trek fans, the Experience may be moving to Neonopolis, which is downtown on Freemont Street.
  • You’ve probably seen the ads for Saw V on our website and you’ve probably wondered: If they can make 12000 Halloween‘s, they can make Saw VI. You’d be right. But there’s a twist here, VH1 will be airing a ‘reality’ show called Scream Queens where the ‘winner’ gets to star in the next Saw movie.
  • You’ve probably hears that Joss Whedon’s Dollhouse recently underwent some changes in filming. Fear not! Amy Acker, co-star of the show, says all the rumors were much ado about nothing. We shall see.
  • Despite poor ratings and rumors to the contrary, Fox has ordered a full season of The Sarah Connor Chronicles. Great, a bunch more episodes I’ll never watch.

  1. Given how much wallspace anime and manga take up at my local big box, I think Apple ain’t being cute, they’re being pretty smart. Haven’t you noticed how many fewer shelves SF & F are on these days?

    ‘Tis a shame, because T:SCC keeps getting better with each passing episode.

    Now it’s just about as good as the first season was.
