  • Good new for LOST fans: Season 5 will air uninterrupted! That means 16 straight weeks of LOST goodness, barring any unforeseen strike or the odd clip show. Sadly, there is nothing in the works to make remaining weeks until the premier go by any faster.
  • The Writers Guild of America has released their nominees for the 2009 Writers Guild Awards, and a couple of genre shows have made the list. LOST is up for Best Drama (which it is), while Fringe and Life on Mars are up for Best New Series. That’s a more interesting question: Which is better, Fringe or Life on Mars? I’d have to give the nod to Fringe.
  • While Dollhouse is still going forward, it appears that the accompanying three-minute webisodes for each episode are not. Originally planned to be ‘bonus material’ for the show, due to the production problems Dollhouse has encountered, the webisodes have been shelved for the time being.
  • Speaking of Fox, they’ve gone ahead and ordered more episodes to accompany the pilot for the SF comedy Boldly Going Nowhere. Boldly is the new show from the same people who created It’s Alway Sunny in Philadelphia. I’ve never seen Sunny, but have heard it’s funny. And a half-hour comedy SF series just seems wrong. But maybe they can pull it off. I guess we’ll find out.

  1. @Which is better, Fringe or Life on Mars?

The original, British Life on Mars. 🙂

  2. Troo dat! I tried to like the americanified Life on Mars, and even though the pilot redo was helpful, but in the end, I realized that it’d either be the same and booring, or different and wrong. The brit LoM was consistently awesome. Can’t say the same for those other shows. Nope.
