Free Fiction From DayBreak Magazine, the Online Counterpart to the ‘Shine’ Anthology

DayBreak Magazine is the online fiction part of Jetse de Vries’ upcoming Shine anthology. On Friday October 16, the website published its first free story (“The Very Difficult Diwali of Sub-Inspector Gurushankar Rajaram” by Jeff Soesbe), with new ones available every second Friday until the print Shine anthology appears, and possible longer. (The Shine anthology is slated for an April 2010 release.)

Note that that the stories featured in DayBreak Magazine are not the ones appearing in the print anthology: these are different stories. These stories were also submitted to Shine, but could not be included. However, Shine editor Jetse de Vries liked them so much that he’s featuring them on the website.

Also, in late November, there will be a competition about the Table of Contents for the print Shine anthology. After this competition (in which prizes will be awarded) is over and the winners (and the ToC) have been announced, then DayBreak Magazine will also feature excerpts from the print Shine anthology.
