A Preview of the New Doctor

I’ll miss David Tennant’s tenure as The Doctor, but Matt Smith looks to be off to a rousing start. Do I spy the return of the Weeping Angels from the “Blink” episode? Awesome.

  1. Why yes, you do. Moffat has already said the Weeping Angels will eb returning in his first season as runner for Dr. Who (which is appropriate since he wrote the amazing “Blink”). And if you paid especially close attention, there were supposedly references to the Weeping Angels in the last David Tennant episode, “The End of Time, Part II.”

  2. And what looks like the return of River Song from “Silence in the Library”/”Forest of the Dead”, also written by Moffat.

It’s going to be difficult to get over Tennant as the Doctor; he’s now such an iconic figure in that role. I’ll certainly watch Smith as Eleven, but it just won’t be the same.

  3. The only thing that was odd was the Doctor firing a gun (rather out of character, surely?)

Still, I think Matt Smith looks quite promising.  It’s a shame about the awful outfit though.

I’m really pleased that Moffat is going to be directing (and I hope writing too) because I really liked all the episodes he wrote in the first four series.

  4. Does anyone know the name of the music playing in the New Dr.who trailer featuring  Matt smith? I would love to add it to my collection. thanks. Jeff
