    That’s the guy who writes about a flat world riding on the back of a giant turtle, right?

  2. Terry, you have way too much time on your hands. 

    It’s not meant to strict SF.  It’s an adventure show for children, with SF elements, that crosses in appeals to adults.  Judging it by what it ain’t is just plain foolish.  The new series is slicker than the old in not wearing it’s children’s show origin on its sleeve so adults can think it isn’t just for kids, but still it is true.  While SJA slants more strictly to the children’s side and Torchwood goes in the opposite direction.

    That said I love Doctor Who classic and new and watch it faithfully. 

    Sometimes you just need to have fun in SF and be over the top with a sense of wonder and adventure  – not be so frigging serious about it or it being realistic.

    I eagerly await you explaining how Willy Wonka is questionable SF…
