Here’s the book description for Purgatory:

It has been about forty years since Luke Skywalker flew his X-Wing starfighter down the trench of the first Death Star and fired the proton torpedoes that destroyed the Empire’s mighty weapon. Jedi Grand Master Luke Skywalker is now a father and has rebuilt the Jedi order. His heroics are legendary throughout the galaxy and he continues to resolve one crisis after the next. In the current series of novels from Del Rey, Star Wars: Fate of the Jedi,he faces a new threat, a tribe of Sith masters and disciples that have appeared seemingly from no where. These Sith don’t follow the all too familiar Rule of Two, one master and one apprentice, they are a whole society based on the teachings of the dark side of the Force. But where did they come from? That’s the story John Jackson Miller is telling in his eight part free ebook novella series, Star Wars: The Lost Tribe of the Sith, and it begins 5,000 years before Luke Skywalker fired that fateful shot and changed the galaxy forever.

Dark Lord of the Sith Naga Sadow has waged war against the Galactic Republic. The ship Omen,in service to Sadow during the Great Hyperspace War, was returning from a Lignan crystal mining expedition when she crashed on the remote planet Kesh. Stranded, with no communication and no way of contacting Naga Sadow and his forces, the ship of Sith warriors and mining crew are stuck on a world they do not know. The Lost Tribe of the Sith is born and John Jackson Miller’s tale begins.

In part 5, Purgatory, this mighty Sith dynasty founded on the planet Kesh has endured for a thousand years–and so has the merciless Sith code, which prizes power above all else. Lady Orielle Kitai enjoys power as the scion of a noble family and member of the elite Sith Sabers. But Lillia Venn, as reigning Grand Lord of the Sith, possesses absolute power . . . and is determined to keep it.

When a failed regicide sparks a political–and literal–bloodbath, and suspicion falls on Orielle, she is swiftly condemned to slavery by the ruthless Grand Lord Venn. But seeing the cunning power play for what it is, Orielle vows to strike back. And at the ramshackle home of a poor dirt farmer with an astounding secret, she discovers the means to make her vengeance a devastating reality.

Not freely available in the UK 🙁

  2. Nor if one does not have a Kindle…. so not free or available.

  3. The Suvudu library carries PDF versions of the Star Wars titles.   I personally don’t consider PDF to be an eBook format — an eBook format will re-layout the content for the device its on; PDF is all about maintaining format — but you can find programs like Calibre that will convert a PDF to an eBook format of your choice.
