Trailer: Source Code

Source Code is Duncan Jones’ follow up film to Moon. This time Jones is exploring that well worn SF trope: time travel. Jake Gyllenhaal’s character, Colter Stevens, is repeatedly sent back in time to try and stop a terrorist bombing of a passenger train. Echoes of Groundhog Dog here but I’m sure Jones will do something different with it. Not Primer different though, this one looks to have more action, though that could be an effect of the trailer.

Has nothing interesting to say so in the interest of time, will get on with not saying it.

  1. I’m looking to be surprised by this – the first trailer didn’t leave me as excited for the film as I’d have liked, but this trailer shows a bit more – enough to make it more interesting to me. It’s not something I’m going to rush out to see, I think, but it does have me more likely to go to a theater than just to wait for DVD.

  2. Looks fun.  Kind of sounds like they are simulating the past and not really time traveling though, which is why he can’t save the girl + needs to find the bomber in under a certain amount of time so they can stop another bomb from happening.  Just hope they don’t pull a Deju Vu if they do got this route.

This trailer is even more techie than trailer #1. They both make the movie look like Inception knockoffs to me, even though production started before Inception was released.

  4. If the source code isn’t Python, I’m not seeing it.

  5. Duncan Jones also happens to be David Bowies’ son. Moon was awesome.
