Saturday May 7, 2011 is Free Comic Book Day!

The annual Free Comic Book Day is when participating comic book shops around the world give away comic books absolutely free to anyone who comes into their stores. (Details provided by each retailer.)

This year’s selection is brimming with great titles like Amazing Spider-Man, Captain America, Thor, Avatar The Last Airbender, Star Wars: Clone Wars, Green Lantern, The Tick, and many more

So this weekend, stop by a store near you and grab some free comicy goodness.

  1. Every Thursday, Minnesota Public Radio has an “art hounds” segment where they get three local artists to suggest art events that people might be interested in. Although I’ve never had one of my suggestions taken up, I am one of the people who they ask for ideas.

    Anyway, one of the three art hounds this week (not me, alas) has picked–Saturday’s Free Comic Book Day.

    I think its a good thing that it is getting mainstream exposure.
