My WorldCon Book Haul
I know it’s a little late, but I wanted to share with you the books I brought back with me from WorldCon in Reno (an inevitability at any con with a decent dealer’s room).
The list includes a lot of stuff from smaller presses including Apex and Absolute Xpress – here we go…
- Kell’s Legend: The Clockwork Vampire Chronicles, Book 1 by Andy Remic (Angry Robot)
- Broken Time Blues: Fantastic Tales in the Roaring ’20s by by Jaym Gates and Erika Holt (Absolute XPress)
- Close Encounters of the Urban Kind edited by Jennifer Brozek (Apex Publications)
- Harlan County Horrors edited by Mari Adkins (Apex Publications)
- Running with the Pack edited by Ekaterina Sedia ()
- Mechanique: A Tale of the Circus Tresaulti by Genevieve Valentine (Prime Books)
Now, where did I leave those extra hours in the day I set aside for reading…
Books!
I picked up Mechanique at Readercon and it is pretty high on the TBR pile. I’m curious about Broken Time Blues, given the editors.
You are a person of great restraint; I came back from Readercon with about two dozen books, which in itself is a half-year’s reading. Whoops.

@John
Yeah, I didn’t have room for more in my luggage…
Broken Time Blues is well worth your time. Also, my copy has an extra illustration on one of the first pages thanks to the awesome and talented Galen Dara who did the cover for the book. π We met at WorldCon and she was kind enough to add the extra artwork for me!
