Red-Band Trailer for “Kick-Ass 2” Features a Little Cursing and a Lot of Jim Carrey

Here’s the (NSFW) red-band trailer for Kick-Ass 2, which hits theaters August 16, 2013.

The costumed high-school hero Kick-Ass joins with a group of normal citizens who have been inspired to fight crime in costume. Meanwhile, the Red Mist plots an act of revenge that will affect everyone Kick-Ass knows.

The film stars Christopher Mintz-Plasse, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Chloë Moretz, Jim Carrey, Lyndsy Fonseca, Yancy Butler, Donald Faison, John Leguizamo, Lindy Booth, Olga Kurkulina. And…wait for it…Nicolas Cage apparently makes a cameo. My guess is he plays someone crazy.

Kick-Ass 2, based on the comic book created by Mark Millar and John Romita Jr.

Wouldn’t Nicholas Cage be playing Big Daddy, who was killed in the first movie? A flashback, I expect.

  2. Jim Carrey = An instant “don’t bother”. Not as bad an actor as Adam Sandler but seeing his name in the credits tells me I’ll be getting my fill of crazy facial expression humor (and yelling). Whenever Jim Carrey is on-screen you can actually feel the rest of the cast and crew cringing. Even when he’s doing one of his “serious” roles you know you will be seeing that blank expression followed by wide-eyed wonder at seeing every day objects.

  3. Ooh…Jim Carrey? Yeah, I’ll pass on that. I just cant take the overacting-live-action-screaming-cartoon-character roles he tends to create.
