The New Heavy Metal Album by…[Wait For It]…Christopher Lee

There are few celebrities who can pull off astronomical levels of cool. Shatner did when he embraced his cheesiness. To that list I would now add Christopher Lee. Apparently not content with a legendary film career (including playing key roles in The Lord of the Rings and Star Wars), Lee has embraced his inner metalhead by providing vocals on a new album Charlemagne: Omens of Death. And if that isn’t cool enough, it features Judas Priest’s Richie Faulkner providing the musical arrangements.

    This actually isn’t his first metal album, but a sequel to 2010’s Charlemagne: By the Sword and the Cross.

    As a metal fan myself, I think it’s laughably bad, but YMMV.

  2. You’ve just got to enjoy this on the same level you enjoy Manowar. It’s kind of goofy, the musicianship is impressive even if uncoordinated, and it’s charming as hell.
