The 1973 film Soylent Green starring Charlton Heston is based on Harry Harrison’s 1966 novel Make Room! Make Room! It depicts a Dystopian future beset by overpopulation, pollution, poverty and depleted resources. (And of course, it was memorably spoofed on SNL.)
