Daniel Abraham’s and Ty Franck’s EXPANSE Series Headed for Television

Looks like Daniel Abraham’s and Ty Franck’s Expanse book series is being adapted for television!

Variety is reporting that scribes Mark Fergus and Hawk Ostby (Iron Man and Children of Men) will script the pilot of the how called The Expanse, which is based on the series of novels written by Daniel Abraham and Ty Franck under the pseudonym James S.A. Corey.

The book series cosnsists of Leviathan Wakes, Caliban’s War, Abaddon’s Gate and the soon-to-be-released Cibola Burn.

The Expanse will be an hour long SciFi drama “with elements of a detective procedural, centring on a cover-up of the discovery of alien life”.

Not much else is known at this point. Stay tuned!

  1. Great news, I imaged the Expanse series was ideal for a TV series, right up there with Battlestar Glactica and Babylon 5. Any idea about which network might carry the series?

  2. So great this news.Perfect material for a series.

I think they’ll stay tight lipped until things get moving along, this is at least a year away and probably two.

My thing now is,will this show have our crew members as part of it?Holden,Naomi,Amos,Alex?AND who will play them if it does?

This has Star Trek like potential if it’s done right.

  3. Love this news. I’ve said for a while now that the books would be fantastic for television.

  4. This would get me to sign up for cable TV again.

  5. Make it a Netflix series and we’re all set.

  6. Wow, I didn’t even know a fourth book was coming, either–awesome!

  7. Sweet. Now I’ve got to read the third book. And there’s a fourth book?!

  8. I’ve had the first two books in the TBR pile for awhile. This news makes me think I should move them closer to the top of the pile.
