News Ticker

A quick update on our recent technical difficulties

Things seem to be working again. That’s good.

We lost about 11 days of published and pending posts. That’s not great, but it’s way better than losing everything. Also good: Most of the lost posts have been retrieved from various caches and are back at the same URLs they were before. (That’s full URLs…not the abbreviated ones which I normally use on Twitter/FB for brevity. The shorter URLs are based on index numbers which are now different, thus those links won’t work. Setting up 50+ redirects is not something I’m keen on doing right now.)

Bear with us as we come up to speed again on posting.

Put another way: slow blogging ahead!

  1. No worries, John! Glad to hear that you guys managed to retrieve most of the data.

  2. What published posts are still missing? Anyone who subscribes to your feed with a self-hosted feed reader (like me 🙂 ) should have a backup of that data. But I can’t see any missing recent posts.
