Cover & Synopsis: THE MEMORY OF SKY: A GREAT SHIP TRILOGY by Robert Reed

I love, love, love Robert Reed’s stories of the Great Ship, so I’m excited to learn that Amazon has posted the cover art and synopsis of Robert Reed’s upcoming Great Ship trilogy The Memory of Sky. Looks like it’s being published as a single 600+ page volume!

Here’s the synopsis:

Diamond is an odd little boy, a seemingly fragile child – who proves to be anything but. An epic story begins when he steps into the world his parents have so carefully kept him from, a world where gigantic trees each house thousands of humans and another human species, the papio, rule its far edges. Does Diamond hold the promise to remake one species and, perhaps, change all of the Creation?

  1. I love Robert Reed’s Great Ship series too and was thrilled when I found out about his new novel! I hadn’t seen the title yet, though!

Reed has another Great Ship book coming out as an ebook on November 12; just to keep bibliographers on their toes, it’s called The Greatship. It’s a sort of fixup of all the related short fiction from 1994 to 2010, except for the original novella version of “Marrow”. There’s a fair amount of background to the universe in the interstitial material, and all the stories have undergone a least a little revision, and in a few cases it was quite a lot. He should have a detailed piece about it up on his site soon.
