4 Comments on 202 Reasons To Read Science Fiction, Fantasy and Horror in December 2013 (Your Monthly SF/F/H Cover Gallery and Holiday Shopping List)

  1. I’ve got an ARC of The Iron Wolves in-hand, and I’m slogging through Mars, Inc. right now (not his best, not by far). I’d love to snag a copy of Turn Down The Lights for Clive Barker’s story alone, but I find the only thing harder to get my hands on than a Cemetery Dance title is one from Subterranean Press.

Raygun Chronicles looks like a ton of fun, and I’m definitely anxious to read the entire Star Trek: The Fall saga. The Doctor and the Dinosaurs just arrived in the mail this past week, so it’s next on my reading list.

Innocent Blood just didn’t work for me – it wasted just about all of potential of the first book.

  2. So many books! I think there were over a dozen here that I want to read, and I just can’t read that many books in a month! Definitely a good time of year to be an SFF fan, though.

  3. Can’t wait to pick up and start reading Andromeda’s Choice tomorrow.

Robert Reed’s The Greatship is one I want to read. I’ve always been impressed with his short fiction.

The Valente collection looks great, and I love Kathleen Jennings’ illustrations.

This post reminds me that I need to get caught up with BPRD.

Happy to see re-releases of Tanya Huff’s Valor books.

  4. I’ve been making a habit of reading every available preview on these lists, and my picks for this month were …

Isabel Greenberg, The Encyclopedia of Early Earth.
Ian Tregillis, Something More Than Night.
George R. R. Martin & Gardner Dozois, Dangerous Women.
    Joseph Wallace, Invasive Species.
    David Garnett, Lady into Fox.
