Everything You Wanted to Know About the Defibrillator Chest Chomp Scene From John Carpenter’s THE THING

John Carpenter’s The Thing is a SciFi classic. Based on John W. Campbell’s excellent short story “Who Goes There?” (reviewed here), it’s the story of alien assimilation and paranoia. The film has several scenes that are memorable and worthy of analysis, but it’s the defibrillator chest chomp scene that’s the focus of this clip from Art of the Scene. Filled with loads of trivia about the scene and film itself, it’s definitely worth the 10 minutes it takes to watch it.

Do I have to tell you this is gonna be gory? You may want to put your cornflakes aside.
